Every business has its story, and ours began with frustration at the idea that rug owners were being told to simply throw their rug into the carpet cleaning process with all of the other rugs. This is not the appropriate treatment for a beautiful handknotted rug, is it?
Pure Rug Solutions was built with a desire to offer the rug owners of Solana Beach a rug cleaning company that would focus on doing one thing exceptionally well: cleaning rugs the proper way for each rug type.
Led by Someone Who Actually Cares About the Craft
Steven, the founder of Pure Rug Solutions, did not come into the industry in any random fashion. For years, he learned about the intricate details of rug care and how to properly care for the different fibers commonly found in rugs. This knowledge created the foundation of the business.
Much of the work that comes through our facility is personally overseen by Steven.
As the founder of Pure Rug Solutions, he feels that the individuals who run the business should have an appreciation for the craftsmanship that went into creating those rugs, as opposed to simply turning the rug business into a way of making money as quickly as possible.
Our Approach to Rug Care
Pure Rug Solutions look at rug care from three points of view.
First, proper identification of the rug. Understanding the fiber and other features of the rug will allow us to avoid the majority of damage that occurs at other rug care services.
Second, patience. Rugs, especially those that are hand knotted, are taken slowly and carefully in their creation taking months to complete one rug. We care for the rugs in the same way, taking the time necessary to properly clean them instead of rushing the process to turn them around for customers.
The third is transparency. Pure Rug Solutions explain to each client what we are going to do to their stained piece, why we are doing it, and what results they can expect from the process. If we know that a stain will not be fully removable, we will tell them up front so that they are aware of the process and do not have any false expectations of the results of our efforts.

We chose Solana Beach for our location due to the community’s appreciation for quality and craftsmanship in the area. From the boutiques on Cedros Avenue to the homes built by individuals who want custom homes in the hills above the coast, Solana Beach residents invest in the items that mean the most to them and their homes. We want to build a company that deserves to take care of them.
Being local means that we understand something that many of the national rug cleaning chains do not understand: how the coastal environment impacts rugs over time.
The salt air, sand, and humidity that is specific to this part of San Diego County impacts the fibers of rugs in specific ways, which is something that we take into account in our rug cleaning process instead of simply using a process that is appropriate for a different climate altogether.
